UNISON and GMB are running a joint campaign to keep our adult day centres open. The council is trying to take vital services away from vulnerable members of our community.
Public Meeting: Hands Off Our Day Centres!
Wednesday 9 December at 6pm via Zoom.
Meeting ID: 849 7687 8024
Tower Hamlets council wants to shut the Riverside, Day Opportunities and Pritchard Roads Day Centres. The Centres closed during lockdown but now the council plans to keep the doors permanently bolted. Service users and families have been left reeling by the announcement which would see also see 24 highly skilled staff
lose their jobs.
Day Centres deliver vital support and activities for vulnerable adults with disabilities/health conditions and help to prevent social isolation. They provide family members with respite from their caring responsibilities.
